From the zipper to the Internet, from Gravity to the Big Bang, from the Wheel to steam engines to Apollo 13, from Evolution to Robotology…Take a ride through history from the Stone-Age to the Age of Technology. The History Detectives will examine the world’s greatest achievements, innovations and discoveries that created our human civilization. We’ll look at science, engineering, astronomy, archeology, the arts and technology…from accidental discoveries like penicillin to finding Tutankhamen’s tomb and landing a probe on Mars. All these discoveries, from the simple to the complex, changed the world. What is the future of the human race? Can we guess? History Detectives will try to predict the future. Activities: Using ideas from class, we will make a featured diorama. We also may, with help, attempt making a simple robot. We will cook a meal of ‘futuristic’ food. (hint…bugs are everywhere.) Additional activities generated by the class. History Detectives will present at showcase.
