Formal Drawing II is a studio art class where students learn classical drawing techniques that will help improve their artwork. Though it is a follow-up to Formal Drawing I, the first class is not a necessary prerequisite to this class. Students will practice a variety of drawing exercises and learn to use different drawing mediums such as pencil, charcoal, nib pens, and Sharpies. Everyone in the class will receive their own personal sketchbook in order to practice drawing and work on assignments at home. At the end of the semester, each student will show off at least one drawing they have completed at our display table at Showcase. Drawing is a great way to build up observational skills, spatial recognition, memory recall, hand-eye coordination, visualization, and is a wonderful creative outlet! There is a $25 materials fee which covers the cost of a sketchbook, drawing pencils, erasers, charcoal, india ink and nib pen set.
